Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Are you a big picture person? Do you enjoy analyzing complex systems and working with the latest technologies? If you want to work on some of the most interesting technical challenges on the planet you are probably an SDE-T at heart! In this coding-intensive position, SDE-Ts split their time between analyzing the complex systems our client runs on to look for “holes” and bugs, and designing and developing tools and automation needed to ensure the highest levels of quality, and automating a rich set of tests. You will be involved in one or more projects right from the design phase, giving design feedback and generally making sure the systems you are responsible for work well, scale well, and ultimately meet our customers’ needs.
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test to support our engineering efforts. As an SDE-T in the client’s team, you will be given the chance to pioneer new design and architectural choices which have a significant impact on our systems, our business and most importantly, our customers. You will be involved in the earliest phases of new feature development, providing development with “big picture” feedback on their designs. Additionally, you’ll be contributing to a cutting edge tool set and infrastructure. This is an exciting, dynamic, and challenging position and we are looking for people with initiative, drive, and useful experience in the industry to fill them.
The position requires a strong engineer with hands-on coding experience in Java and or C++. Expect to spend at least 50% of your time doing design and coding. The role also requires you to be able to analyze and work with complex architectures. Our product’s requirements include compatibility with both internal and external clients, so knowledge of existing and emerging client technologies would be very useful. We expect the ideal candidate to work both independently as well as in collaboration with others on our team as well as with the development staff.
Qualifications
- Strong development background on large projects on collaborative teams
- Proven coding skills in C++ and or Java on Unix/Linux platforms
- Experience with experience with XML, XSD, WSDL, and SOAP and a history working with web client software
- Database knowledge highly desired.
- A degree in computer science is highly desired
- Must have experience working in QA, developing automated tests for web-based products. Automation development experience with products such as LoadRunner/WinRunner does not apply
